\nLos hospitales han estado usando iluminaci\u00f3n ultravioleta para desinfectar equipos durante a\u00f1os, pero ahora los servicios m\u00e9dicos de emergencia en el metro est\u00e1n usando luces ultravioleta port\u00e1tiles m\u00e1s peque\u00f1as para desinfectar las ambulancias.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Antes de encender la luz, los equipos usan aerosoles y toallitas para desinfectar las superficies en las ambulancias.<\/p>\n

El proceso UV tarda unos 30 minutos en matar g\u00e9rmenes como bacterias, virus y hongos. West Des Moines EMS dice que las luces ultravioleta usan radiaci\u00f3n similar a la del sol para matar estos elementos, pero a diferencia del sol, el dispositivo es port\u00e1til y no emite ning\u00fan tipo de calor.<\/p>\n

Con el virus de la gripe generalizado de este a\u00f1o, West Des Moines EMS transporta a diario a personas diagnosticadas con gripe.<\/p>\n
